Alexia Achilleos critically explores the power dynamics shaping artificial intelligence (AI) from a local perspective. Her work investigates dominant narratives and questions biases found within history and society, but also within AI itself, particularly challenging the idea of technology as universal and objective. She often engages with local communities to collaboratively examine and challenge hegemonic ideas about technology, through locally anchored, pluralist approaches.
